    Suncorp Plaza

Suncorp Plaza, formerly known as the SGIO Building and Theatre, is one of the landmark building complexes in Brisbane’s Central Business District. Sitting at the corner of Turbot and Albert Street, the 24-floor building is dedicated to office space. Upon completion in 1971, it became one of the tallest skyscrapers in Brisbane. The original tower once underwent a comprehensive refurbishment to meet the Property Council of Australia’s A-grade standards. The external renewal comprised a modern aluminium clad facade and extensively upgraded mechanical services. Meanwhile, there were new amenities on the ground floor such as cafes, a à la carte restaurant, a news agency and ATMs. The renovation has given the building a new lease of life and helped it achieve better occupancy. The building features a 10-metre digital clock featuring the logo of Suncorp, its primary tenant until the company moved to the Brisbane Square building. Soon, the plaza is undergoing a major change, as the local authorities proposed a new one to fulfil a wider range of demand, from office and retail spaces to sport and recreation facilities.

Because of the magnificent river views, the landmark’s surroundings comprises both renowned international businesses and authentic local cafes, bars, and restaurants.
